Aide Schiessl - Head Teacher
Aide has been involved with Here Wee Grow! since her son Kenny was a student in the school’s very
first year. Later her daughter Amanda also attended HWG. Aide has been active in teaching for four
years. Mrs. Schiessl was raised in a small Arizona town bordering Mexico, and is the oldest of the six
children in her family. She and her husband Ken live in Enfield with their children Kenny (18), who is
attending Asnuntuck Community College, Amanda (10) and William (21).. As her children have grown,
she has been involved with their activities as a Cub Scout leader, school volunteer and confirmation and
CCD teacher at Holy Family Church where she is a member. She enjoys camping, hiking, travel and
family fun, as well as gardening and crafts. Her children have inherited her love of reading.

It wasn’t all that long ago that she went back to school, and earned her Associates Degree in Early
Childhood Education in two years, graduating with high honors. She has been teaching for six years and
plans to continue her education and pursue a BS and perhaps her MS in the field of education.
