Valerie Boucher - Teacher
I began enjoying the Here Wee Grow! experience back in 2004 when my oldest child began in the three year old
program. Four years and two children later, I was very sad to leave that part of my life behind. Last year, I came
back as a teacher. It was so exciting to be back with young children again! And at such an awesome school!!
I began working with children during my senior year in High School as a full-time nanny for 2 little boys. I
continued in that field for 10 years and also squeezed in a few teaching positions whenever possible. During that
time, I also attended Community College of RI with a major in Early Childhood Education and Elms College,
majoring in Elementary Art Education.
I grew up in the Warwick area of Rhode Island near lots of family. My mom is the 2nd oldest of 8 so there were
always aunts, uncles & cousins around to play with. Shortly after getting married 13 years ago to my husband,
Dan, we decided to relocate to Enfield to be closer to his family. We have 2 children – a 10 year-old daughter,
Meg and an 8 year-old son, Bret. Along with 2 fish, a cat named Arnold and a dog named Stanley.
I spend much of my personal time volunteering in Girl Scouts with my daughter. I am a leader for her troop and
serve on the Service Unit here in Enfield. I also enjoy scrapbooking, reading and camping with my family.
